I moved to Seattle two days after graduating from the U of M Law School in 1980 and have lived here every since. I then persuaded Liz Berggren and her husband to move here as well. After practicing law for a few years, I started teaching law at a local community college and later at the UW Business School. Before my knees and hips stopped working, I spent many years kayaking, hiking and skiing. Now that both my knees and hips have been replaced, I hope to return to many of my favorite outdoor activities. I'm retired and spend much of my time doing volunteer work with the homeless and working on climate justice projects. After living most of my adult life in the Northwest, I get nervous when we go too long without rain.
