Pretty much a wallflower RHS. Hung out with Scott Savage and Peter Brkofsky (I think he's a big time chef now).
After not being drafted in the summer of 1969, I blossomed along with what turned out to be life long pals Larry Larson, Dan Becker and Sheldon Silberman. We started a band.Played at places like the Bel Rae Ballroom, The Barn, the Crystal Mist and warmed up for Danny's Reasons (later changed to Danny Stevens and the Reasons).. Man, those bell bottomed pants and platform shoes fit this once skinny tall drink of water just perfectly!
Finally decided I had to get a real job and became a police office. Shortly thereafter I married a beautiful woman (I got the best of the deal there). We are both long since retired; just my sole mate and I, our two cars, two cats and a cellular phone I will never figure out how to use.
Life is grand!
Went to the 50th with Dan Becker and Larry Larson. People came up to me and talked about what a "card" I was. I don't remember that and I'm embarrassed to say I didn't remember them. Mary Beth Allen was just as nice a person as she was in high school. Her and Charlie make a great match. She even remembered when I gave her some roses. That was nice, but I don't remember that. I have many quality photos from the 50th if anyone would want copies on a thumb drive. Just ask; no cost to you. I bought a new Mustang GT with the 435hp Coyote V-8. It went like a rocket. It was too much for me so I took it back. Really nice Ford dealership in Des Moines. Now I'm looking for a '57 baby bird (T-bird). Probably an Amos Minter bird.
